SWOT (Strengths)
Strengths
First we need to tackle the strengths and skills you already have.
It’s a very human thing to not want to blow your own trumpet, but you have to be objective here. If you’ve got a skill – put it down. You should never downplay anything you do or have done.
Areas to include:
- Your Work Experience
- Your education
- Transferable Skills
- Personality and Personal Characteristics
Ask yourself:
- What qualifications have I got?
- What specialist knowledge have I got?
- What competencies do I have?
- What kind of work have I done and for how long?
- What have I achieved at work? Out of work?
- What are my strengths?
- Who are my influential contacts?
- How good are my support mechanisms – among family, friends, work colleagues?
