SWOT (Strengths)

Strengths

First we need to tackle the strengths and skills you already have.

It’s a very human thing to not want to blow your own trumpet, but you have to be objective here. If you’ve got a skill – put it down. You should never downplay anything you do or have done.

Areas to include:

  • Your Work Experience
  • Your education
  • Transferable Skills
  • Personality and Personal Characteristics

Ask yourself:

  • What qualifications have I got?
  • What specialist knowledge have I got?
  • What competencies do I have?
  • What kind of work have I done and for how long?
  • What have I achieved at work? Out of work?
  • What are my strengths?
  • Who are my influential contacts?
  • How good are my support mechanisms – among family, friends, work colleagues?
